Legacy Way Alliance is developing supervised community-service placements for people completing court-ordered, SNAP/work-requirement, school, training, employer, or other approved service hours. We document the hours actually completed through approved placements.
We are actively building placement opportunities across our program areas, including senior outreach, animal welfare, community restoration, and more. Placements are supervised and structured to meet the verified service hour requirements of your referring organization.
Who May Request a Placement?
- People completing community service hours required by a court or probation order
- People completing community service hours required by a SNAP or other work program, where permitted by the referring agency.
- People completing community service hours required by a school
- People completing community service hours required by an employment or training program
- People completing community service hours required by another referring organization
Requirements differ by program and organization. Participants should confirm eligibility with the organization that assigned their community service hours.
Where Your Hours Can Go
Senior & Mobile Outreach
Support approved senior yard projects, outreach preparation, technology assistance, resource distribution, and other supervised community-based activities.
Animal Welfare
Support approved animal-welfare projects. Direct animal handling requires appropriate screening, training, supervision, and approval.
Community Restoration
Participate in cleanup, beautification, and neighborhood improvement projects.
Technology & Digital Confidence
Assist community members in building basic technology skills.
Volunteer Coordination Support
Help organize and support Legacy Way volunteer activities.
Legacy Life Lab™
Standard service options for Legacy Life Lab™ focus on program preparation and material support for life-skills activities. Any participant-facing Legacy Life Lab™ role is only available if it has been specifically reviewed, screened, and approved in advance.
Verification Matters
Legacy Way Alliance verifies hours actually worked. The receiving court, government agency, school, benefits program, employer, training program, or other referring authority determines whether those hours satisfy its requirement.
Verification of completed hours does not guarantee acceptance by the receiving authority.
How It Works
- Request a placement.
- Tell us the organization requiring your hours, total community service hours required by your referring organization, and your deadline.
- Legacy Way reviews safe available assignments.
- Complete approved supervised service.
- Actual hours are reviewed and verified by an authorized supervisor.
Participants cannot approve their own hours.

Direct work involving children, seniors, adults with disabilities, animals, money, transportation, confidential information, or private homes requires appropriate screening, training, supervision, and approval before any participant is placed in that role.
Available assignments vary based on current program needs and approved placements.
The Right Assignment Matters
Assignments depend on a combination of factors — including safety requirements, available supervision, individual skills, any lawful restrictions, required training, insurance considerations, and what work is actually available at the time of placement.
Our placement principle:
“Restrict the unsafe access — not automatically discard the whole person.”
Sensitive duties involving children, vulnerable adults, money, confidential data, animals, transportation, or home access require additional review.
Finding the Best Fit for Your Hours
Every placement is matched with care so the work you do is safe, supervised, and genuinely helpful to the programs you support. This includes considering your schedule, transportation, communication preferences, and any support you may need to complete tasks successfully.
What We Consider
- Your skills, interests, and comfort level with different types of work
- Any accessibility, communication, or task-support needs the participant chooses to share. We do not require medical diagnoses to match ordinary service assignments.
- Transportation, timing, and location constraints
- Program needs and supervision available at that time

- Share honest information about your experience and comfort with tasks
- Ask questions if any part of an assignment is unclear
- Let us know early if your schedule or circumstances change
- Give feedback so future placements can be improved for you and others

Some justice-connected participants may also be appropriate for the Legacy Restoration Pathway™, our structured restoration and community-placement track.
Legacy Way does not grant diversion, dismiss charges, modify court conditions, supervise probation, or guarantee a legal outcome.
